Tour Highlights

4 Days Hunza Honeymoon By Air Tour Itinerary

Our driver will be waiting for you at Gilgit Airport arrivals. The drive from Gilgit to Karimabad takes approximately 2 hours on the Karakoram Highway.

On the way, we stop at the Rakaposhi viewpoint at 7,788 meters, Rakaposhi is one of the most photogenic peaks in the Karakoram, and the roadside viewpoint gives you a clear face-on view.

After check-in and rest, we visit Altit Fort over 900 years old and one of the oldest surviving structures in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The Aga Khan Trust for Culture has restored it meticulously. Entry tickets are included in your package.

From Altit, we drive up to Eagle’s Nest (Duiker viewpoint) in time for sunset.

At approximately 3,100 meters, the view from here covers the entire Hunza Valley, Rakaposhi, and on clear evenings, several other 7,000-meter peaks.

This is typically the moment couples mention first when they come back.

Evening free time for Karimabad bazaar local apricots, walnut oil, embroidered caps, and saffron are the most popular purchases. Overnight stay in Hunza.

After breakfast, we visit Baltit Fort the most iconic landmark in Karimabad. Built in the 13th century by the ruling Mir family, Baltit Fort was the seat of Hunza’s royal family for 700 years.

The guided tour (entry included) takes about 45 minutes and covers the royal quarters, watchtower, and the terrace with a direct view of Ultar Sar glacier. The fort sits at the edge of the Karimabad plateau below it, the Hunza Valley drops away.

After the fort, we drive to Hopar Valley in Nagar approximately 1.5 hours from Karimabad.

Hopar Valley is home to the Hopar Glacier and Golden Peak (7,027 meters). The glacier walk takes about 30-40 minutes on foot from the village. This is one of the few places in Pakistan where you can walk directly onto a glacier without any technical equipment.

The scale of Hopar Glacier 15 kilometers long is difficult to comprehend until you are standing on it.

Drive back to Hunza in the evening. Free time for rest or local market visit. Overnight stay in Hunza.

This is the longest day of the tour and covers the most ground approximately 280 kilometers round trip from Karimabad to Khunjerab Pass. We depart after breakfast.

First stop is Attabad Lake 30 kilometers from Karimabad. The lake was formed in 2010 when a landslide blocked the Hunza River.

The water is a specific shade of turquoise that photographs dramatically against the grey mountain walls. Boating is available at the lake but not included in package.

We continue past Gulmit to Passu Village. The Passu Cones seven sharply pointed rock spires rising directly from the valley floor  are one of the most recognizable landscapes in northern Pakistan.

A short walk to the viewpoint takes 15 minutes.

From Passu, we continue to Sost and then to Khunjerab Pass at 4,693 meters  the highest paved international border crossing in the world.

The drive from Passu to Khunjerab takes about 1.5 hours through a wide high-altitude plateau with glaciers on both sides. Temperature at the top is typically 5-10 degrees cooler than Karimabad. Carry a warm jacket regardless of season. Overnight stay at Attabad Lake or Hunza.

Breakfast at the hotel. Our driver will transfer you to Gilgit Airport in time for your departure flight. Drive from Hunza to Gilgit Airport takes approximately 2 hours. End of services.
