Hunza Tour Package from Rawalpindi 2026

Rawalpindi is closer to Hunza than any other major city in Pakistan roughly 550 kilometers via the Hazara Expressway to the KKH. From the right pickup points in Pindi, you can reach Hunza in 12 to 13 hours of driving, which makes it possible to do in one very long day. We do not recommend that approach, though. The Naran and Babusar Pass route is 220 kilometers longer but the scenery especially the Babusar crossing is genuinely worth the extra day.

We offer two options from Rawalpindi: a 6-day road trip via Naran and Babusar Pass, or a 4-day by-air package using the PIA Islamabad to Gilgit flight from Benazir Bhutto Airport, which is 45 minutes from most Rawalpindi locations.

Rawalpindi pickup points include Saddar, Bahria Town (Phase 7 and 8), DHA Phase 2, Raja Bazaar, and Murree Road. We come to your location no need to travel to a meeting point.

Day 2 - Naran to Hunza via Babusar

Lulusar Lake morning stop. Babusar Pass at 4,173 meters. Descent to Chilas KKH. Rakaposhi Viewpoint. Arrive Karimabad. Check in. Evening bazaar. Overnight Hunza.

Day 3 - Altit Fort, Baltit Fort, Eagle's Nest

Both forts in Karimabad. Eagle’s Nest for sunset. Overnight Hunza.

Day 4 - Attabad Lake and Khunjerab Pass

Day 1 - Rawalpindi to Airport to Gilgit to Hunza

Day 2 - Baltit Fort and Hopar Valley

Is the Rawalpindi package different from the Islamabad package?

The Islamabad page covers Islamabad F-6, F-10, DHA Islamabad, and Bahria Islamabad pickup points. The Rawalpindi page covers Saddar, Bahria Rawalpindi (Phase 7 and 8), DHA Phase 2 Rawalpindi, and Murree Road. The price is PKR 85,000 from Rawalpindi vs PKR 83,000 from Islamabad a PKR 2,000 difference for the extra distance. The itinerary is the same from Day 1 onward.

How far is Rawalpindi from Hunza by road?

Via the direct KKH route (through Besham, not Naran), Rawalpindi to Hunza is approximately 550 kilometers about 11 to 12 hours of driving. Via Naran and Babusar Pass (summer route), it is approximately 770 kilometers 2 days with an overnight in Naran. We always use the Naran route in summer because Babusar Pass is a highlight of the journey in itself.

Which airport do we use for the by air option from Rawalpindi?

Benazir Bhutto International Airport is located between Islamabad and Rawalpindi approximately 35 to 45 minutes from Saddar Rawalpindi and 25 to 30 minutes from DHA Phase 2. PIA operates the Islamabad to Gilgit route 3 to 5 times per week. We can include airport drop on Day 1 of the by-air package confirm this when booking.

Can we do road one way and fly back?

Yes. Drive up to Hunza via Naran and Babusar in 2 days, spend 3 days in Hunza, then fly back from Gilgit to Islamabad. We can drop you at Islamabad Airport or Rawalpindi on the return.
