Swat & Hunza Valley

Swat & Hunza Valley

Swat & Hunza Valley

per person

Both beautiful valleys are popularly known as delight and a hallmark of magnificent scenic beauty and rich historical pasts.

Swat is renowned for its outstanding natural beauty. It was a major centre of early Buddhist thought as part of the Gandhara kingdom, and today is littered with ruins from that era. Swat was home to the last isolated pockets of Gandharan Buddhism, which lasted until the 11th century, well after most of the area had converted to Islam Until 1969, Swat was part of the Yusafzai State of Swat, a self-governing princely state. The beautiful valley popularly known as the Switzerland of the East is holiday-makers delight and a hallmark of magnificent scenic beauty and rich historical past. With its roaring rivers, waterfalls, meandering streams, glacier-fed lakes, pine forests, alpine meadows, snow-covered peaks of Mankial and Flaksair, fruit-laden orchards, lush green fields, flower-filled mountain slopes and above all the friendly Swati people who are famous for their traditional hospitality, Swat is without doubt one of the most beautiful tourist destination in the northern valleys of Pakistan.

HUNZA Valley is renowned for its beauty, and the iconic place has become even more of a fairy-tale with this tradition. The people of Hunza have a reputation for living long lives. The reason behind their long-lasting lives has been attributed to the fresh, unpolluted air and untarnished mountain beauty – and the food they consume. Hunza’s cuisine is typically fresh fruits, half-cooked vegetables, grand dairy products. That, and matlash (butter), which seems to have become the subject of intense interest. Hunza valley is located in the Gilgit-Baltistan region which is in the extreme northern part that connects China with Pakistan. Gilgit-Baltistan region Biafo Glaciers is the homeland of adventure treks, k2 base camp trek, Concordia trek, and gondogoro la trek. It is surrounded by several high peaks including Rakaposhi, Ladyfinger peak and Hunza peak.
